This handmade kapa known as Masi is from Viti Levu Fiji.* Fiji is made up of over 300 islands within its archipelago with its capitol being Viti Levu and its main port, Suva. The kapa is measured 2 feet in width by 12 feet in length. Kapa is made from the paper mulberry known as wauke in Hawaiʻi. Our Polynesian cousins have different names for the paper mulberry plant such as Aute.
